Barre&Baby is a movement that merges science, dance, and motherhood to support women through the profound journey of pregnancy and beyond.

Founded in 2012, Barre&Baby was inspired by Elisa’s personal experience after the birth of her first child. During this time, she realized that movement, when approached with intention and awareness, could be a powerful tool for mothers—not just for physical well-being, but for emotional support as well.

Barre&Baby now embraces an international team of midwives, doulas, professional dancers, teachers and mothers, who are all inspired by the power of movement and dance to support women through evidence-based practices during one of the most significant periods of their lives.

The Barre&Baby mission & Introduction to Matrescence

The extensive range of physical and emotional changes women experience when they become a mother are a magnificent engine towards movement. We go through anthropological studies about the transition of becoming a mother and the role that movement can play in enhancing the maternal journey and bonding with baby.

Babywearing

We’ll explore history and benefits of babywearing, and how to safely and comfortably wear in class and in real life! We’ll also explore the types of carriers available, and adjustments and tips to comfortably wear each carrier. This module is delivered with Dr Rosie Knowles from Carrying Matters. Passing will certify you as a Peer Supporter with Born to Carry.

Barre&Baby Teacher Training Components

  • Pre Course Study

    You'll receive this 1 month before the start of the course, as well as an online assessment before starting the course.

  • 11 Modules

    Our program covers everything from the physical, emotional and technical aspects of being a Barre&Baby teacher.

  • 14 Live Sessions

    We’ll connect as a group throughout the program so that you get plenty of support and accountability along the way.

  • 50+ Training Videos

    You'll get lifetime access to videos that cover anatomy, physical exercises, barre combinations, guided relaxations, etc.

  • One-to-One Session

    You'll get a 1-hour private session with Elisa before your final assessment for personal support and guidance.

  • Teaching Assessments

    We'll assess you on your theory and teaching practice, with real time feedback and mentoring to ensure you're ready.

  • Marketing Support

    You'll receive a marketing kit to promote your classes, plus support and advice on how to build your own business.

  • Playlists & Ideas

    We'll also share Barre&Baby teachers' best playlists and class ideas so that you're feeling inspired and confident!

  • Community Support

    You'll become part of a global community of Barre&Baby teachers, sharing resources, inspiration and support.

  • All sessions are online. Dates for the February course will be posted soon.

    In the meanwhile, and for a limited time, the Barre&Baby Teacher Training will be available as a 1:1 individual journey.

    If you feel deeply called to support motherhood— because you know how much it matters for the rest of humanity— you’ll be personally guided by Elisa, the founder of Barre&Baby.

  • You must attend and participate in every class of the course, pass every assessment, and fulfil the entire payment in order to receive your Barre&Baby™ Teacher certificate.

    You will be assessed on your ability to teach a class, including your ability to suggest modifications and additional support as sometimes needed by pregnant or postnatal women.

    Receiving the Barre&Baby™ Pre and Postnatal Teacher certificate means you are a qualified Barre&Baby™ teacher, ready to hold Barre&Baby™ spaces.

    To stay accredited, you must pass a fresh assessment every year. This assessment is tailored to the individual teacher and will be done remotely.

  • We can offer a full refund at the beginning of the course if all following statements apply:

    • You have not (attempted to) complete Module 1 (just the Pre Course Study)

    • you have not downloaded the Barre&Baby Teacher Training Manual

    If refund is requested after the above conditions, refund won’t be possible and monthly payments are still expected to be fulfilled for the entire course cost.

    If the above conditions are met, full refund will be made within 28 days, however, a £50 admin fee will be deducted.

    Once you request a refund, access to the course will be removed and you will not be able to receive a certificate for the course.
